Little Homemade Goodies…… for Tenille and Connor!

So today’s post is a continuation of yesterday’s post in that these were the gifts and card I made for  my lovely coworker, Tenille to welcome the birth of her beautiful boy, Connor.

Tenille has been waiting for this blanket! She had told me the second she found out she was pregnant and knew exactly what she wanted.

Her baby room’s theme is nautical and so I went with it.

The blanket was made using this pattern from Little Monkey’s Crochet. The pattern was so quick to work up. Not only that, the finished product is so soft and cuddly, perfect for a little one.

I used Caron Simply soft yarn in Soft White, Heather Grey and Dark Country Blue.

Now I wanted to add red to it but Tenille was happy with Navy, Grey and White; so the red accent for me was going to be the ribbon used to tie it together.

The other items I made were really cute, simple ideas. I found some digital stamps from Inkeedoodles and inked them up with Copics and made them into little pieces of artwork to hang in the baby’s room. The last gift I did is somthing I do for all the new babies that come into the world. It is called Word Bubble Art. It has all the important information on it, like name, birthday, weight, ect on it with some other special words that mean something to the receiving family. I find these are usually a really big hit.

The picture frames I found at Home Sense. I was so excited when I saw them because they have a nautical look to them.

Now the card was really fun to make. I don’t make a lot of shaker cards, I find them a little tedious, but after making this one, I think I have changed my mind about them.

This card is using the same little image that I used for one of the art pieces. It ties in nicely with nautical theme.

I inked the image with Copic markers

Supplies Used:

SSS 110lb cardstock, Kaiser Craft “Baby” sentiments, Pebbles “Special Delivery”, MFT Jumbo “Peek a Boo” Circle, 3D foam, sequins and beads for the shakers part.

I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my creations.

Thank you for stopping by…..
